Session Descriptions:
KNIT


(prerequisites: none)
Supplies: 1 skein (for each project) Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in a color of your choice (no dark colors, please), 1 set of size 13 knitting needles, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will learn to Cast On (CO), Knit, (K), and Bind Off (BO). Students may choose to begin a chunky hat or chunky fingerless mitts. Students will finish the project at home before the next class.


Session 2: Discover the Purl Stitch
Supplies: 2 skeins of 2 different colors Caron International's Simply Soft, 1 set of size 8 knitting needles, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will review what they learned in the first sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. Students will learn the Purl stitch (P) in this session, and will combine that with the Knit stitch to begin their new project. Students can choose between a Tassel Beanie or a Sporty Neck Warmer.

Supplies: RED HEART® “Super Saver®”, 1 set of size 9 knitting needles, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will review what they learned in the first and second sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. In this session, students will learn to combine the Knit and Purl stitches to create pattern stitches. Students can choose between a 3 Stitch Hat or LegWarmers.


Supplies: Patons® Classic Wool, 1 set of size 7 knitting needles, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will review what they learned in the first three sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. In this session, students will learn to create beautiful cables. Students can choose a Cabled Keyhole Scarf or Fingerless Mitts.


Discover Baby
Prerequisites: For these projects, students should have a good working knowledge of knitting basics, including how to make a slip knot, casting on, the knit stitch and binding off.

Discover Throws
Prerequisites: This project requires time to complete but will be a treasured heirloom. Students should have a good working knowledge of knitting basics, including how to make a slip knot, casting on, the knit stitch, and binding off.


This project is for the confident knitter who has conquered knitting basics, including slip knot, casting on, knit stitch, binding off, and is comfortable knitting in the round.
CROCHET

(prerequisites: none)
Supplies: Bernat® Satin, Size H crochet hook, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will learn to chain, single crochet, turning chain, and seaming. Students may choose to begin a skinny scarf or a smart phone cover. Students will finish the project at home before the next class.
Session 2: Discover Tall Stitches of Crochet


Students will review what they learned in the first sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. Students will learn Half Double Crochet, Double Crochet, and Treble Crochet in this session. Students can choose between an Easy Pillow or an Easy Scarf.


Supplies: Caron International's Simply Soft, Size J crochet hook, and 1 large-eyed blunt needle.
Students will review what they learned in the first sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. We will learn Increase/Decrease, Shells, Reading Patterns, and Gauge in this session. Students can make a Bluesy Cloche and a Side to Side Scarf.


Students will review what they learned in the first sessions, and any questions about their projects will be addressed. Students will learn Crocheting in the Round and Changing Colors in this session. Students can choose between a Granny Square Market Bag or Granny Square Scarf.




Discover Throws and Wraps
Prerequisites: These projects require a good working knowledge of crochet basics, including how to make a slip knot, foundation chain, single and double crochet. Students should be comfortable reading a crochet pattern.
Discover Gifts
Prerequisites: This project requires basic knowledge of how to crochet, including how to make a slip knot, foundation row, and single crochet.
